Hot on the heels of their recently completed, and highly successful, Expedition Africa, impossible2Possible is already announcing their next big adventure for 2013. Early next year, the organization will head to the American west for another one of their trademark adventures, this time to be held in the state of Utah. Better yet, organizers of the event are currently looking for a group of young people to join in on the fun.
The just announced Expedition Utah will take place next spring when a group of world class adventurers join with a team of dedicated Youth Ambassadors for what promises to be yet another interesting challenge. As usual with impossible2Possible expeditions, participants will be attempting to run a marathon a day for seven straight days as they cross the wild and foreboding Utah desert. The run will take place in the southern part of the state, giving everyone involved a unique look at the stunning landscapes of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
As always, the expedition will also have a strong educational element attached to it. In addition addition to running across Utah, the Youth Ambassadors will also be interacting with numerous classrooms as well. One of the key principles of any i2P endeavor is that it inspires and educates through adventure. This will hold true for Expedition Utah as well, although exactly what form those educational elements will take have not been spelled out yet.
Applications are now being accepted for the Youth Ambassadors who will participate in Expedition Utah. The online form can be found by clicking here and instructions for filling out the form are here. This is a great opportunity for young people to get involved with a great project and experience a little adventure along the way.
