It is a 50 minute documentary produced back in 1978, when the thought of climbing Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen seemed like a crazy idea. It follows Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler as they make the first ascent of the mountain without using gas. Looking back on this now, it seems ridiculous, but 30 years ago, the mountaineering world was very different.
