Adventure travel legend Richard Bangs is back once again with yet more helpful tips for travelers. This time out, Richard gives us some advice on how to travel lighter, and why it is good for us to do so. He learned this lesson on an expedition to Ethiopia, where he lost his pack containing all of his gear, but still managed to have one of the best journeys ever. As someone who takes pride in traveling light, this particular video especially hit home.

A few weeks back I posted the first in a new series of videos in which our friend Richard Bangs shares travel tips that will sure come in handy for any of us who hit the road on a regular basis. In that first video, he shared tips on how to avoid getting the dreaded "traveler's tummy" and in the second video he tells us how to avoid jetlag. If you've ever experienced severe jetlag, you'll appreciate any options that help alleviate the problem. It can be a brutal to overcome, but if you follow Richard's advice you might be able to get through your next bout with out too much trouble.

Video: TravelSmith Travel Tips #1 - Avoiding Traveler's Tummy
The start of the new year also marks the start of a new series of travel videos from our friend Richard Bangs. He has just launched the first of a weekly set of clips that will offer tips on how to travel smarter and more safely in the year ahead. In this video, he tells us how to avoid the dreaded traveler's tummy, something that most of us have probably had the misfortune of experiencing at some point in our wanderings. He also shares a story of how he got hit with giardia while paddling the Colorado River, which resulted in him having to be airlifted to safety. There is a good lesson for us all here.
