Video: Night Of The Northern Lights
Back in February the Earth was subjected to some of the best displays of the Aurora Borealis, aka the Northern Lights, that have been seen in decades. Extreme northern locals across the globe were treated to a spectacular light show, including parts of Scotland. The video below was shot on February 27, just a few days after one of the biggest solar flares ever detected. For those of us who didn't get a chance to see this amazing natural display for ourselves, the clip gives a sense of what it was like, in a beautiful timelapse no less.

The Northern Lights are a phenomenon that everyone should see at some point in their life. The eerie light dances across the night sky in an amazing display of multicolored illumination that can only be described as "otherworldly." The video below captures that amazing natural show, giving us a great look at what the aurora borealis looks like in Tromsø, Norway. Simply beautiful.

In order to create the video below, filmmaker Stian Rekdal traveled for more than 3000 miles across Iceland and shot over 40,000 photos. The result is a breathtaking look at an already breathtaking country. If this doesn't get you charged up for an Icelandic adventure, nothing will. Simply beautiful.

Video: Aurora Borealis Timelapse
There is no doubt that the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, is one of the most awe inspiring sights that you could ever hope to see. They are the result of charged particles from the solar winds striking the Earth's magnetic field in the upper atmosphere resulting in a light show that is unlike anything else found in nature. The video below was shot in Iceland and features some striking images of this phenomenon. It seems that the Northern Lights were specifically made for timelapse photography as well because they are breathtaking here. Enjoy!
