Video: Americans On Everest - 50 Years Later

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the first summit of Everest by an American, something I wrote about at length this morning on Gadling. To celebrate this event, National Geographic has released an amazing video that features some of the members of that expedition, as well as other prominent American climbers who followed them. The short film is a conversation about the mountain and features the likes of Jim Whittaker, Tom Hornbein, Conrad Anker and others. This one will definitely be popular with Everest purists and historians. Excellent stuff to for an important occasion.
