Video: Through The Khumbu Icefall On Everest

If you've been reading my updates from Everest over the past week or so, you've undoubtedly heard me mention the Khumbu Icefall on more than one occasion. This treacherous section of the climb falls just above Base Camp on the South Side and is well known for the challenges it presents the climbers. I thought some of you might be interested in seeing what the icefall looks like first hand, so I dug up this video that provides some excellent and scary views of the place. Keep in mind, the climbers have to pass through this section several times while acclimatizing and again at the start of their final summit push. After watching the seven minute clip, I think you'll have a better understanding of why icefall is so revered amongst climbers.
